2 months agoAtmosphere and service was great. Food is completely trash🗑️🗑️. Whoever makes the Mac and cheese should be fired you’ll get better flavor out of a box Mac and cheese. Collard greens no flavor whatsoever taste just like a leaf no seasoning. This place has a lot of potential if they would season the food better.

2 months agoStopped in for lunch with my coworker yesterday, got the rib meal with some pulled pork on the side. And let me tell you, it was delicious. Next time I'm in the area I know where to go. 10/10 would recommend

5 months agoAll of the good reviews are old. Here's how we got here: I ordered a plate with 2 pieces of meat and 3 sides with a sliver of cake and my meal was $25 before tip (No Drink). +thoughts: "I was in a cafeteria style restaurant. I wasn't served at my table, who am I tipping?"- The problem is that I've been coming here since 2017. Back then, there were older ladies who actually did the cooking and had pride in the food. Now, I go in there and see a cheerleading squad with the coach. I recommend bringing back the old ways of doing soul food restaurants. I didn't want to go to wild wings with sushi prices. The food tasted like the standard "Soul" food, yeah, but It has lost it's charm. I expect better for that kind of money. It's just my opinion.

6 months agoThe collard greens, red beans and rice, and pulled pork were VERY DELICIOUS!! The atmosphere and service gave a sense of real southern hospitality. When you come by Guyton, you have to try this restaurant. You will not be disappointed, PERIOD.

2 years agoI purchased takeout from this restaurant for the first time today. I had the dark meat baked chicken with cabbage and brunswick stew. I am very picky especially with the way things are seasoned. Everything was great. The chicken was so tender and juicy, sides were good and the plain cornbread was tasty. I also got the pulled pork with creamed corn and cabbage for my husband. His meal was great as well. Prices are good especially for the portion of food that you get. I can't wait to go back and try the oxtails and Seafood!

2 years agoSouthern Kafe on 17 OMG………….. !!!!! The food was so delicious!!! Was visiting in a town nearby (about 20 mins drive) and had a taste for some Soul Food. When I tell you this joint hit the spot ———— I Ain’t Lying! lol Because I lived about 30 minutes drive away, I ordered two plates (was able to make 3+ meals from them). I ordered oxtails over rice, collard greens, mac n cheese on one plate and baked chicken, creamed corn, and collard greens on the other. The plates also came with corn bread. For dessert, I ordered some peach cobbler! Going to try & make it a thing and take that 30 minutes drive one weekend out of the month to indulge in this treasure of a place. Well worth it!
